About

Life is a creative journey with unexpected destinations.

Emelina Corrales

My name is Emelina, I was born in Costa Rica. This exuberant country with two oceans, inspired me since the age of four to study marine biology. Life made its path, and when I was a teenager, I had doubts if I should study Marine Biology or Psychology. One day my mom said: "Emelina those two subjects are very different", to which I responded "Mom, the ocean is as deep as the secrets of the human mind".

When I got out of high school, my mind was clear: I decided to follow the path of the ocean and studied marine biology. For over ten years, I worked in National Parks, NGOs, Universities, High Schools, and research vessels doing conservation project management, teaching and research in four different continents, including in extreme logistical and stress conditions. Beyond this diversity of work environments, I became aware of a constant: the human being was always the main lever of performance. In each person, I could see an ocean of opportunities, I could help materialize. This remains today my daily inspiration and pleasure as an executive coach.

During my life journey I also decided to look into myself, so at 22 years I started practicing zen meditation. I was able to contact a more authentic part of me, shifting the way I perceived life and its challenges, making space for my deepest aspirations to start guiding me. A key moment was in 2005, while I was on a research cruise in the Pacific Ocean with no land at sight. At that moment a phrase came to my mind: "May your wisdom be as VAST as the ocean".

In 2012, I decided to change my professional path and become a coach. I started studying in 2013 to become a certified coach in Mediat Coaching which was one of the best Coaching School in Paris, France, led by Isabelle La Plant and Nicholas de Boer. At this institute a number of multinational and French national companies based such as Danone, Randstad, SNCF, Orange, etc. sent their human resources personal and managers to become coaches. Since then, I do executive coaching and life coaching with clients from all over the world: Paris, Costa Rica, London, Tunisia, Hong Kong, Dubai...

At present, I live with my family in the South-West of France next to Plum Village, a Mindfulness Practice Centre, founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

Laurence de Fontenay

Born and raised in France, I hold a university degree in law, worked first in training, then on organizational design, audits, processes and L&D within large international groups, with scopes like France, Europe and LatAm. With a strong HR background, I have been working as an Exec for more than 10 years and managing teams up to 200 people.

Certified as a coach in 2015, I managed to integrate coaching in each part of my role as a leader, specifically when developing teams and making them dig their competencies and find enough energy and self-confidence to thrive and perform.

I am convinced each individual can be the best version of him / herself when their purpose is clear and matches the purpose of the company.

Also, I have been practicing meditation for over 12 years now, which is a huge support to take a step back, come back to my intuition and make the right decisions. I used to be the kind of workaholic employees’ companies like as they are always engaged and ready to be in charge. I realized I was at risk for both myself and the company, creating a lot of tensions around me even if it was obviously not my intention.

I am convinced we should all feel that being ourselves in our work environment is a way to express our talents and be creative in our job. We should be recognized first for who we are and then only for what we do, as we are human beings not human doings.
